Pay easily
Invoice or “purchase slip”
The amount to be paid includes:
- the price of the sale in the room or auction amount . (See box below)
- the auction fees
- the technical inspection and preparation of the vehicle
depending on the vehicles and on the sales procedures for each Sales Centre, the following may be added:
- the appraisal fees
- the engraving of the vehicle: the cost of registration in the register of engraved vehicles (“theft” warranty)
Please note
The legal fees for public auction sales are variable, and are freely set by the auctioneers. They may therefore differ according to Sales Centre, type of vehicle, and origin of sale.
Make sure you understand the exact rate of sales fees which will apply to your vehicle.
The percentage of the auction fees applied to the vehicle is given at the bottom of the information panel attached to the windscreen of the vehicle.
Paying for the vehicle bought at auction
Payment, as for any item bought at auction, is made in cash on the day of the sale, or within 48 hours:
- on the day of their sale:
- Cheque accompanied by a letter of credit held by you or sent at your request by fax to the Sales Centre by your bank.
- Cash, on condition that the amount of the auction or auctions for a single purchaser and at a single sale does not exceed 3 000 euros maximum, including charges.
- Credit card (Visa - MasterCard)
- Bank transfer. In this case, after verification, the originals of the vehicle documents will be sent by registered post within 15 days to the purchaser.
- within 48 hours:
- Banker’s cheque (cheque drawn up directly by your financial institution)
- Cash (same conditions as above)
- Credit card.
- Bank transfer (same conditions as above)
Your security deposit will be returned to you against your banker’s cheque
NB : Professionals are required to pay by cheque or bank transfer for any sum exceeding €750.

Gut zu wissen
The terms of payment may vary according to Sales Centre. Ask for information at the reception in your Sales Centre.
For example: letters of credit are not accepted in some centres, where a banker's cheque will then be required.

Documents provided to the purchaser after payment
- Invoice or “Auction sale slip”
- Certificate of public sale of the vehicle:
an essential document in order to visit the Prefecture and request your new registration document
- Registration document or declaration used in its place

Depending on individual case:
- Maintenance record or log
- Maintenance book
- Appraisal report
- Certificate of ownership (See box below)
- Preliminary contract for transfer of ownership of an engraved vehicle

Please note
All vehicles have a registration document or a registration certificate to be used in its place. The Sales Centres are not obliged to issue a certificate of ownership; the document is available online and from our site from the « downloadable documents” » section.
